PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Charles Howell III, 22, was named the U.S. PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year after winning $1.52 million in prize money this year, the PGA said. He had five top-10 finishes.
Bob Gilder was named Rookie of the Year on the Senior PGA Tour after finishing eighth on the money list with $1.68 million in winnings. Gilder, 50, won the Verizon Classic and the Senior Tour Championship.
Joe Durant, 37, was named the PGA Tour's Comeback Player of the Year after winning the Bob Hope Classic and the Genuity Championship.
