Qld: Former railway officer jailed for fraud

A former Queensland Rail officer has been jailed for four years after pleading guilty
to several fraud-related charges.

The Criminal Justice Commission says BRIAN THOMAS GILL of Gladstone had appeared in
the Gladstone Magistrates Court.

GILL, who was a track section supervisor, was charged with dishonestly obtaining property
from Queensland Rail to the value of $77,428 between November 1998 and July 1999 and with
falsifying job records.

The Criminal Justice Commission investigated GILL's activities after discrepancies
were found by Queensland Rail.
