QLD: Three charged after 150km chase in stolen govt car

BRISBANE, Dec 28 AAP - Three people will appear in Cairns Magistrate Court tomorrow after
leaving a service station without paying and leading police on a 150km chase, police said
today.

Police spokesman Mick Spinks said the police pursuit of the stolen government car ended
when it crashed on The Esplanade in Cairns, slightly damaging two police cars.

The trio had stopped for fuel in the small north Queensland township of El Arish, about
150kms south of Cairns, then "shot through without paying", Mr Spinks said.

The car was identified as a stolen government car and police were led on a chase from El
Arish, through Innisfail to Cairns.
