FED:Qantas pilot backs ACTU jobs security plan

A Qantas pilot has told how his colleagues are becoming distracted in the cockpit because
of ongoing concerns about job security at the carrier.

EYTAN HERSON was speaking at an event hosted by the Australian Council of Trade Unions
at the start of the Labor Party national conference in Sydney today.

He says that for a pilot, the ongoing job security concern is a constant distraction
from their work, and that's not in the best interests of a company which prides itself
on its safety record.
